Get involved with one of the local organizations supporting local food. In Baldwin County, AL, there’s the Fairhope Local Food Production Initiative (contact Ed Lawrence for details). Along the Gulf Coast there’s Real Food Gulf Coast.

Start an edible garden in your yard, in your community, or even just in your kitchen window.
SHOP LOCALLY
Visit one of the many farmers markets, farm stands, or stores that sell locally grown food. They’re often discussed on this blog.
