Last Call (this spring) for Green Acres Chicken
Green Acres Farm still has some of their excellent Freedom Ranger chicken (the brown birds in the photo above) available for purchase at the Palafox Farmers Market in Pensacola this weekend. It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to drive over there from our house (interstate nearly the whole way), and with a little planning you can enjoy the market and the beach. The price is $5 per pound for processed birds ranging from 3-5 lbs. This is true pastured poultry, and the birds are a bit leaner and less breast-heavy, with a little more dark meat. Just so you know, if you’ve never bought from Green Acres before, the chicken is whole, completely processed and ready to cook. The neck is included but no organ meat. Let me know if you have other questions!
